Outer Southern Youth

The Outer Southern Youth Homelessness Service (OSYHS) aims to assist young people in their transition to independent living through support and increasing access to other housing options.

Young people, aged between 15 and 25 years old who are homeless, transient or at risk of homelessness, can be referred to OSYHS. An Intake Worker meets with the young person to assess their situation and to discuss possible options.  A Case Plan will be developed and young people will be provided with wait list supports.  This will be keeping in touch to ensure the youth has safe housing options and provide referrals to other services if required.  Young people will also be requested to attend the Private Rental Workshop run by Housing SA

When young people are housed in one of our transitional properties our Outreach workers then engage individually with each young person to identify goals and develop a support plan so they can maintain their housing as they connect to their community. Young people will be working with their Case Manager to transition into the private rental market

The service can be accessed by agencies making referrals via phone; internet; email or a young person may phone us on 8392 3000 or attend our office at 34 Beach Road, Christies Beach for an interview.
